Segway PT transmission oil drain plug with chip magnet (for early detection of damage)
Gearbox oil drain plug with magnet for SEGWAY PT i2, x2, Gen2, SE which filters the metal shavings from the gearbox oil so that the metal shavings cannot get into the bearings and damage them. A useful little helper that increases the longevity of the Segway PT transmission.
Also contributes to the early detection of damage so that the transmission can be overhauled or refurbished early enough before major damage destroys the transmission.
Highly recommended in conjunction with gearbox refurbishment to ensure that the Segway gearboxes run for the life of the Segway. What has been standard for years in the combustion engine of sports vehicles, i.e. magnetic oil drain plugs to filter the chips caused by the abrasion of metal parts in the engine or transmission oil, is now also being used in Segways. Even if there is no combustion in a Segway gearbox, friction occurs in the gears and the shafts in the bearings. This friction produces very fine metal chips. These metal shavings then float in the oil and will automatically get into the bearings. This magnetic screw ensures that the swarf adheres to the magnet and thus filters the oil, keeping the bearings free of deposits and increasing the service life of the gearbox.

You need 1 piece for each gearbox, i.e. a total of 2 pieces for a SEGWAY PT.
